Unico American Posts 24% Rise in Quarterly Earnings

Unico American Corp., a Woodland Hills insurance holding company, reported a 24% increase in its fiscal second quarter earnings.
In the three months ended Sept. 30, Unico had a profit of $1.75 million, compared with $1.41 million in net income a year earlier. Its second quarter revenue was $11.8 million, up 13% from $10.4 million a year before.
Unico’s profit in the first half of the fiscal year was $3.42 million, a 25% gain from earnings of $2.74 million in the same period a year ago. Its six-month revenue was $23.1 million, up 12% from $20.6 million.
Unico provides property, casualty, health and life insurance, and related premium financing, through its wholly owned subsidiaries.
