Yacht Club to Hold Turkey Day Regatta

A special Turkey Day Regatta will be held on Sunday at Westlake Lake, as members of the Westlake Yacht Club vie for top honors in the annual decorating contest.

The festive regatta begins at 12:30 p.m., with open registration scheduled between 10:30 a.m. and noon.

The yacht club hosted its Trick or Treat Regatta in October at Westlake Lake, and the annual Kris Kringle Regatta will be staged on the same lake next month.

A special trophy will be awarded to the owner of the yacht with the best decorations for all three contests. Judges will rate the sailing floats based on presentation and originality.

Sixteen-year-old Lindsay Artof was the 1995 winner.
