Irvine Valley College will offer night courses in environmental technology for the spring semester so that working adults can attend them.
The college added the classes because the California Employment Development Department projects 20,000 new job opportunities in the field in the next five years.
The courses being offered include Introduction to Environmental Technology, Health Effects of Hazardous Materials and Hazardous Materials Management Applications.
In fall 1997, the college will also offer Safety and Emergency Response, a course that can be completed for a program certificate from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
