White House Names Legal Spokesman

The White House appointed a new spokesman to deal with the media on legal issues, including those related to Whitewater and Travel Office investigations as well as campaign financing. Lanny Davis, a partner in the Washington law firm of Patton Boggs since 1978, will join the staff as special counsel effective Dec. 9, White House Press Secretary Mike McCurry said. He replaces Mark D. Fabiani, who recently left the position after serving for the last 18 months.
