Lineup Shuffle Fails to Help

Share

The Kings were outplayed by Detroit on Saturday night despite some lineup changes by Coach Larry Robinson.

For only the second time this season, left wing enforcer Matt Johnson was inactivated. He was joined by defensemen Sean O’Donnell and Jaroslav Modry as Robinson unsuccessfully tried to get more scoring punch into the lineup.

Goalie Stephane Fiset lost his third consecutive game to drop to 4-8-3 and has not won since the Kings defeated Hartford, 3-2, on Nov. 2. In his last four games, Fiset has given up 20 goals. . . . Saturday night’s sellout was the Kings’ first since last March when 16,005 attended Wayne Gretzky’s return to the Forum with the St. Louis Blues.
