The Dodgers will begin interleague play against the Oakland Athletics, with a two-game series at Oakland beginning June 12, The Times has learned.

From there, the Dodgers will travel to Seattle for two games, followed by a two-game series with the Angels, at Dodger Stadium.

Major league baseball’s 1997 schedules have not been released, but were prepared while awaiting an agreement between the owners and players, reached Tuesday.

Each club will play 15 or 16 interleague games next season, with the National League West and American League West teams going first, opposing one another June 12. Other divisions will follow suit a day later.

Oakland is the last American League team the Dodgers played in a meaningful game, in the 1988 World Series. No Dodger team has played in Seattle.
