Spotlight: Fox Licenses 68 Films to Brits

News Corp.’s 20th Century Fox agreed to license 68 films, including the box-office hit “Independence Day,” to British Broadcasting Corp. and Britain’s Channel 5 for $40 million. The BBC will have exclusive rights to broadcast 22 films, while Channel 5 will air 37. The two networks will share nine titles. The films to be licensed include the Robin Williams comedy “Mrs. Doubtfire,” the Keanu Reeves thriller “Speed” and Mel Gibson’s Academy Award-winning “Braveheart.”
