NO HOG HE
First it was Bruce Springsteen, now it’s Michael Jordan that’s getting bashed by your readers. I strongly object to Fredric Cooper’s misguided remarks about Jordan being a “pompous, self-centered culture hog” (Letters, Nov. 10).
Jordan is none of the above! He is a class act in a league that has been, of late, besieged by a select group of whining, egotistical prima donnas who only think they can play like him.
Like Magic Johnson and Larry Bird before him, Michael Jordan knows that it doesn’t take one individual to win games, it takes a team. And Jordan has become known throughout the NBA as an unselfish player and a team leader, and he is revered by young people as a role model.
So you see, Jordan isn’t trying to hog the spotlight. The spotlight is actually hogging him.
