Sheriff’s Department Wins Major Award
The International Assn. of Chiefs of Police on Wednesday honored the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for an innovative program that has reduced transient-related crime in West Hollywood.
The Sheriff’s Department was presented during an afternoon ceremony with the international Webber Seavy Award for Quality Law Enforcement, making it the first law enforcement agency in California to receive the honor.
“This is the most important and respected award in policing,” Sheriff Sherman Block said. “We are proud to be the first department in California to receive this honor.”
