Inspiration Point Ramada, a shelter built in 1924 to protect tourists from the elements at a scenic overlook 3,000 feet above Altadena, was recently rebuilt. After a five-mile trek from Rubio Canyon in Altadena to the base of Mt. Lowe, visitors can use sighting tubes to see distant vistas, including Santa Catalina Island.
