Special Education Students to Reunite

Share

Developmentally disabled young adults who attend or have graduated from a special education program at Orange Coast College will gather for a reunion party Dec. 13.

The theme for party-goers, who are victims of head injuries or developmental disabilities such as autism, will be Friday the 13th superstitions.

The event will feature a 13-pin bowling game, a raffle every 13 minutes and other activities including music and dancing.

The party is sponsored by the 8-year-old Adult Transition Program, which teaches job skills in the campus cafeteria, mail room and recycling center.

The program, which takes about three years to complete, has helped its graduates to land jobs in local restaurants, offices and Costa Mesa City Hall, officials said.

Alumni and the public may attend the celebration.

The campus is at 2701 Fairview Road.
