His 17 Points Not Barry Good

Guard Brent Barry, who sat out the first 14 games because of a thumb injury, scored a season-high 17 points in Thursday night’s 114-96 loss at Chicago, but Coach Bill Fitch didn’t think Barry played well.

“That wasn’t one of his better games,” Fitch said. “He had a good second quarter, but then it went down the tubes.”

Barry, who made five of 20 shots in his first three games, made six of 15 shots against the Bulls.

Barry wasn’t happy with his performance either, despite scoring 12 of the Clippers’ 18 points in the fourth quarter.

“I didn’t do a very good job, I don’t think I was very active,” Barry said.

Guard Terry Dehere, who had a season-high 25 points in his first start of the season in Tuesday’s 96-89 victory over the Charlotte Hornets, missed four of five shots and scored three points in 22 minutes against the Bulls.

Dehere had his hands full trying to check Michael Jordan, who scored 18 of his 20 points in the first half.

After Dehere fouled Jordan on a drive to the basket in the first half, Jordan gave Dehere a withering look.

Jordan scored 40 points against the Clippers last month at the Sports Arena.
