Elchesen Appointed Ingram Micro President

Larry L. Elchesen has been appointed to the newly created position of president of Ingram Micro Asia-Pacific, part of Santa Ana-based Ingram Micro Inc., a wholesale distributor of technology products and services. He will relocate to Hong Kong in David W. Rutledge

January. Elchesen was previously president of Ingram Micro Canada. In addition, David W. Rutledge was named president of Ingram Micro Latin America, with continuing responsibilities over the company’s export division. He was previously responsible for the company’s Asia-Pacific operations. In the interim, Rutledge will serve as acting president of Ingram Micro Canada.

* Pamela Cooper has been appointed senior director of property administration for Villageway Management Inc., an Irvine homeowner association management firm. She has been with the company for six years.

* Scott Harlin has been named marketing communications manager for James Hardie Building Products in Mission Viejo. Previous positions include vice president of public relations and marketing communications for Greenlight Communications and director of marketing communications for Roland Digital Group and Versacad Corp.

* Gary Tschopp has been appointed director of the Irvine office of Porter Novelli, a public relations firm, and management supervisor of its major Orange County client, Kia Motors America. Tschopp joined the firm in 1994.

* Alan Jessop has joined Irvine-based Edison Capital, the capital and financial services subsidiary of Edison International, as a regional vice president in its new European office in London. Previously, Jessop was deputy head and director of project finance for Societe Generale in London.

* Douglas J. Corbin has been named assistant vice chancellor for estate and gift planning at Pepperdine University. His Orange County office is in Irvine. Corbin was formerly director of planned gift development at United Western Medical Centers in Santa Ana.

* Kathy Danneman has been appointed vice president of Orange Coast Title in Santa Ana and manager of the building services/commercial division. She has been with the company since 1983.

* Katie Chin has joined Alcone Marketing Group, a sales promotion agency in Irvine, as vice president of worldwide entertainment and licensing. She was previously vice president of promotions and strategic alliances at Universal Studios Consumer Products Group. Before that, Chin worked for Twentieth Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising, Walt Disney Studios and Orion Pictures.

* Subbu Murthy has been appointed managing director of the new Applications Development Group of SMS in Irvine, an outsourcing services company. The group will focus on developing and implementing solutions for year 2000 issues, when time-date clocks on computers go from “99” to “00.” Prior to joining SMS, Murthy was vice president of product development at Relsys in Irvine, a software company.

* Renea Hutchings has been appointed vice president, franchising, for Carl Karcher Enterprises. She will be responsible for the development, compliance and operation of the 227 franchised Carl’s Jr. restaurants and 53 franchise companies. Hutchings, who joined the company in 1982, had been director of franchise operations since 1994.
