TIMES STAFF WRITER

Salaries of computer professionals will continue to rise in 1997, as companies scramble to snatch up employees skilled at using and managing newer technologies, according to a recent survey of corporate managers by Computerworld magazine.

About 40% of those surveyed said they will be seeking employees with computer networking skills, and about 60% said they are looking for workers knowledgeable about popular operating systems such as Windows 95. Employees with these skills can expect to earn as much as 10% more than the average salary in their companies’ tech departments.
