Florida’s Danny Wuerffel, the most efficient passer in NCAA history, and a pair of 2,000-yard runners--Iowa State’s Troy Davis and Texas Tech’s Byron Hanspard--head the Associated Press All-America team.
Five schools--Florida State, Florida, Arizona State, Colorado and Michigan--each placed two players on the team.
The only USC or UCLA player on the first three teams was Trojan defensive tackle Darrell Russell, who made the third team.
