* JACKSON ST. (2-5) at UCLA (2-2)

Time--7:30. TV--Fox Sports West. Radio--XTRA (690).

This is the last of five consecutive Bruin home games at the start of the season, before UCLA travels to Chicago to play Illinois on Saturday and to St. Louis on Dec. 23. Against the Tigers--who gave up 111 points to Arizona last Saturday, the Bruins will be hard-pressed to maintain their rebounding discipline, which has been iffy. Interim Coach Steve Lavin wants his wing players--Toby Bailey, Charles O’Bannon and Kris Johnson--to focus more on helping Jelani McCoy and J.R. Henderson on the defensive glass, rather than escaping early for fast breaks. “A lot of times when we’re guarding guys at the three-point line, it’s hard to be thinking, ‘I’ve got to get in there and board,’ ” Bailey said. “But we have to make the conscious effort to get in there and crash. I think sometimes we rely on J.R. and Jelani to just get all the rebounds.”
