Three D Departments Inc.: The Costa Mesa operator of 23 home textile and housewares stores reported a first-quarter net loss of $529,973, or 22 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $47,156, or 2 cents a share, for the same period last year. The results a year ago included a gain of $310,427 from an accounting change. Sales for the quarter ended Nov. 2 dropped 9%, to $11 million from $12.1 million. The company attributed the sales decline to the closure of five stores.
