Vigil, Memorial Wall Planned for Victims of Drunk Drivers
The family of a 34-year-old woman killed by a drunk driver will lead a candlelight vigil Friday in honor of all those similarly slain and to raise funds for a memorial wall.
The family of Lori Ann McInroy-Curler will hold the vigil from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the corner of State College Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue, where McInroy-Curler, the mother of a 7-year-old boy, was killed in December 1995.
The family is soliciting funds and seeking names for a memorial wall to commemorate victims of drunk drivers, according to organizers. The Italian marble wall will be built by Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cypress on its grounds.
Anthony Bithell, the driver who struck McInroy-Curler, had a blood-alcohol level of .25, or more than three times the legal limit. He was sentenced to six years in prison.
