Re “Reinhardt and the Supreme Court: This Time, It’s Personal,” Opinion, Dec. 15: David M. O’Brien pointed a finger at U.S. Circuit Judge Stephen Reinhardt and called him the “L”-word. Was there anything of substance in the article? Not that I could find. All I found were statements criticizing Reinhardt for things like championing “the rights of death-row inmates, immigrants, minorities, women and the poor.”

Is O’Brien saying that these types of individuals do not have rights? (Hopefully not.) And if they do have rights, who is going to stand up for them? If you are going to criticize someone, at least give some substantive arguments.
