Braswell Can’t Beat the Clock

It looks familiar to Cal State Northridge men’s basketball Coach Bobby Braswell.

During Braswell’s first season as an assistant at Oregon, the Ducks found a way to lose most of their close games during a 10-20 season.

Now that Braswell is coach at Northridge, he has watched the Matadors (1-5) lose all four of their games decided in the final 15 seconds.

“It’s like Oregon all over again,” Braswell said after Thursday’s loss to Ohio.

Braswell can only hope it turns around as quickly.

In his third season at Oregon, the Ducks went to the NCAA tournament.

“Once we get over the hump,” once we get one, this is going to be easy,” he said after Monday night’s 56-54 loss to St. Mary’s.
