Two men who forced their way into a West Valley bank early Friday got away with only “personal possessions” after tying up a bank employee, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department said.
The employee, who works at Great Western Bank at 6633 Topanga Canyon Blvd., arrived for work about 8 a.m. when he was approached by two men, including one man armed with a handgun, LAPD Officer Mike Partain said.
The men “ordered him inside the bank and tied him up with duct tape,” Partain said.
A short time later, the victim managed to free himself and escaped to a neighboring business where he called police, Partain said.
When police arrived, they found that the robbers had fled but apparently with nothing more than personal property taken from the bank employee.
