CINCINNATI —
A judge Friday ordered Sylvia Stayton, a 63-year-old grandmother, to stand trial Feb. 5 for putting coins in expired parking meters after a policeman told her to stop.
Stayton was arrested Oct. 24 and charged with obstructing official business and disorderly conduct after she saw a policeman writing tickets and decided to drop a few coins in two meters to stop him.
She said she didn’t know who owned the cars and only wanted to do someone a favor. She was jailed briefly before being released on $1,900 bond.
