Wonderware Charge

Wonderware Corp. said it plans to take a $1.3-million charge in the fourth quarter for acquired research and development in connection with its purchase of Germany-based ICT Wonderware GmbH. The Irvine-based software supplier earned $1.3 million, or 9 cents a share, after charges of $1.4 million in the fourth quarter last year.

Wonderware said its German software distributor will serve as the company’s European sales and support headquarters, and that Wonderware will close its existing European regional sales office in Amsterdam.
