Arizona Man Convicted of Killing Children
An Arizona man was convicted Thursday of murdering his four daughters, gunning them down as they watched television because he was distraught over the breakup of his marriage, authorities said.
Norman Yazzie, 33, was charged with shooting his five children Sept. 1 with a .22-caliber rifle in their trailer home in Dennehotso, a small, isolated community near the Arizona-Utah border.
The four girls--Jazana, 13, Veneshia, 11, Cara, 8, and Nathalie, 5--were killed. Yazzie’s 11-year-old son, Rhyan, survived and testified at the trial.
After the shootings, Yazzie fled the scene and left a note that said: “Who has the last laugh here. . . . How does it feel now?”
