Along the way, Mumfie meets an unhappy reindeer with twisted antlers and the Snowbird, a special bird that needs his help to restore its magical powers to bring joy to Christmas. For ages 2 to 5.

Six hours of Christmas cartoons will help keep the children occupied while their elders take care of last-minute preparations during Christmas Eve Cartoons (Cartoon Network, Tuesday, starting at 3 p.m.). “Casper’s First Christmas” gets things started, followed by “Taz-Mania: No Time for Christmas.” Other servings include “Tis The Season To Be Smurfy,” “Yogi’s Christmas Caper” and “Yule Toons.” Get the milk and cookies ready. For ages 2 to 7.

The baby-sitters use the holidays to plan festivities that include a party at the children’s ward of the local hospital in The Baby-Sitters Club-Christmas Special (Disney Channel, Christmas Day, at 3 p.m.). They are able to show a young boy and girl, who are hostile and withdrawn, the true meaning of Christmas. For ages 7 to 12.

Rudolph, with the aid of a whale and a caveman, goes in search of Happy the missing New Year Baby, in Rudolph’s Shiny New Year (Disney Channel, Christmas Day at 5:05 p.m.). If the baby isn’t found, it will remain Dec. 31 forever. For the family.

Nick at Nite’s All-Nite Christmas Party (Nickelodeon, Wednesday from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Thursday) brings classic Christmas episodes from such shows as “Happy Days,” “Bewitched,” “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and “The Bob Newhart Show.” For ages 8 and up.
