Times Staff and Wire Reports

Fresno-based commuter carrier Air 21 announced that all flights have been canceled through Monday, continuing a pattern that disrupted thousands of pre-Christmas travelers. The latest cancellations will affect about 2,000 customers, a spokesman said. That will bring to about 6,000 the number of people with Air 21 tickets whose flights have been canceled in the last week. Financial problems were revealed Dec. 11 when Delta Air Lines refused to continue providing ground operations in some cities because it had not been paid by Air 21. Major stockholders in the airline, which began service a year ago, have been negotiating for a takeover by investment banker David Walsh, who bought the Pacific Southwest Airlines name after PSA was sold to USAir. There was no word on whether talks were continuing.
