Pledging Loyalty to KSCA

Share

Thank you for the front-page article on KSCA-FM (101.9) (“KSCA Fans Fear New Owner Will Touch Dial,” Dec. 21). If I could have had anything for Christmas this year, it would have been to rescue KSCA from its upcoming demise.

No other radio station in L.A. fulfills my eclectic taste in music. KSCA’s gift is its variety of music and its frequent live performances from the Music Hall.

KSCA has been in the forefront in introducing the music of numerous performers, such as Paula Cole, Wild Colonials and, yes, Joan Osborne, who would not have received airplay without this station.

I am proud to call myself a loyal listener of KSCA. I will not be migrating to other stations on the dial.

Attention, all you advertisers out there: Since NPR has no advertising, if you lose KSCA, you lose me!

I am a member of your preferred demographic group, and no other station in L.A. plays music that I like with enough consistency for me to stay with it through the commercials.

I spend several hours a day in my car, and if KSCA goes off the air, I’ll split my time between KCRW-FM (89.9) and tapes, neither of which plays ads for your products/services.

It’s now time for you to exercise your considerable influence (read: domination) over everything, and do something.
