Anixter Inc., an Illinois-based computer networking company, said it plans to open a distribution center in Anaheim and hire 125 workers.

The 130,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to open in the spring, and much of the space will be used as a distribution center serving Southern California, Nevada, New Mexico and Arizona. About 30,000 square feet of space will be set aside for sales offices, company officials said.

Anixter, based in Skokie, Ill., supplies cabling and systems for computer networks. The company was founded in 1957 and had sales of $2.2 billion last year.
