What Is SAG Watching?

Upon reading Susan King’s report, “SAG Award Nominations Include Surprises” (Jan. 24), I second almost all of SAG’s choices, except for Nathan Lane, whose way-over-the-top performance nearly ruined “The Birdcage.”
Still, a burning question remains: Doesn’t anyone out there watch “Homicide: Life on the Street”? How could you possibly choose “The X-Files” for outstanding ensemble performance in a TV series (which, granted, has two excellent leads) over the outstanding ensemble work in “Homicide”?
More amazing: Of the 86,000 SAG members, how is it possible not to recognize one of television’s most consistently brilliant actors: Andre Braugher?
