Pomona Police Seek Clues in Shootings That Claimed 6 Lives
- Share via
A week after six bodies were laid to rest, parents, children and friends of the victims are still haunted by the killings that besieged Pomona.
Almost as chilling as the homicides--which occurred over a little more than 24 hours--mourners have had to face the still-unanswered questions surrounding the carnage.
Police said they have few leads and have yet to determine the motives for the separate incidents.
Edgar Lopez, 16, and Benjamin Rivera, 15, were found dead in a vacant lot a day before Michael Reed, 15, was gunned down as he tried to run into his bedroom. In addition, Stephanie Michelle Contreras, 19, Fernando Madrigal, 34, and Armando Valle, 33 were killed in their home.
“It’s painful for us too,” said Pomona Police Department Lt. Louie Hernandez. “The staff is working on things right now.”
