Orange Coast Gets Plenty of Help to Win

Orange Coast hit three home runs and got seven solid innings from Bryan Moore to defeat Antelope Valley Friday in the opening round of the Nike baseball tournament at Orange Coast. Moore gave up only two hits and did not walk a batter.

Joe Jones, Bobby Calderon and Chad Johnson hit home runs for the Pirates.

In other Nike tournament games:

Golden West 7, Mt. San Jacinto 3--Ken Sundstrom had three hits for Golden West.

Saddleback 14, Antelope Valley 4--Kyle Kane hit a grand slam in the seventh inning for Saddleback (2-0).

In the College of the Desert tournament:

Cypress 9, El Camino 8--Greg Jacobs, who was four for five, hit a home run in the bottom of the eighth to give Cypress (2-0) the victory.
