From Times Staff and Wire Reports

A dying AIDS patient seeking to win the legal right to physician-assisted suicide asked a judge to lift a stay preventing him from taking his own life. Palm Beach County Judge Joseph Davis had ruled that Charles Hall could end his life with the aid of a doctor. But the state said it would appeal, triggering a 30-day stay. Through his attorney, Robert Rivas, Hall, 35 and bedridden, asked Circuit Judge Lucy Brown to set aside the stay.
