Roberts: Back Surgery Set for Saturday
Center Stanley Roberts, who was activated last week after sitting out 28 games because of a back injury, said he’ll undergo surgery Saturday.
Roberts said doctors will scrape a disk in his lower back to take the pressure off a nerve that is causing pain in a leg. He expects to be out four to six weeks.
Roberts has missed 205 games since 1993 with Achilles’ tendon, heel and back injuries.

Clipper Coach Bill Fitch was disappointed that forward Loy Vaught, who has led the team in rebounding in 32 of 43 games, didn’t make the All-Star team.
“I’m always disappointed that he doesn’t get better recognition,” Fitch said. “His game is an all-star type game. He rebounds and he takes the shot. . . . He’s a team man.”
