Share

Ford Motor Co., citing vehicle registration data, said it sold more cars and trucks in California, the largest U.S. auto market, than any other manufacturer in 1996. Ford sold 357,396 cars and trucks, slightly ahead of General Motors Corp. GM led sales in the state in 1995. Total registrations of new cars and trucks rose 2.6% from year-earlier levels to 1.55 million in 1996. The best-selling vehicles, in order, are Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Honda Civic and Ford’s F-series pickup trucks.
