Palmdale Rules Golden League

Monique Nolan scored 23 points and Edniesha Curry added 19 to lead Palmdale High to a decisive 73-52 victory over host Quartz Hill on Tuesday night that clinched the Golden League championship.

Palmdale (22-3, 7-0), ranked No. 3 in the region by The Times, dominated neighboring Quartz Hill, ranked No. 5, for the second time this season.

Kenya Corley had 18 points and 11 rebounds for Quartz Hill (15-3, 5-2).

In other girls’ games:

Crescenta Valley 75, Hoover 43--Michelle Greco scored 42 points, making 19 of 23 shots, and had 15 rebounds for the Falcons in a Pacific League game.

Crescenta Valley (23-2, 9-0), ranked No. 2, has won 16 consecutive games.

Karoline Pidrussian led Hoover (5-11, 2-7), with 23 points.

Buena 107, Hueneme 19--Nicole Greathouse scored 26 points and Renae Hofmann added 22 points for the Bulldogs (20-2, 13-0) in a Channel League game.

Buena, ranked No. 1, led, 58-5, at halftime.

Santa Barbara 65, Ventura 62--Erin Oshita scored eight of her 11 points in the fourth quarter for the Cougars (16-6, 9-4) in a Channel League game at Ventura.

Rhiannon Potkey had 14 assists for Ventura, which fell into a second-place tie with Santa Barbara (14-10, 9-4).

Oxnard 64, Dos Pueblos 60--Danielle Curtis scored 17 of her 25 points in the second half and the Yellowjackets (13-10, 8-5) rallied from a six-point halftime deficit in a Channel League game at Oxnard.

Village Christian 75, Vasquez 12--Shannon Spielbuehler had 19 points and seven steals and Janna Largent had 12 points and 10 steals for the host Crusaders (15-9, 9-0), who clinched their fifth consecutive Alpha League championship.

La Canada 54, Temple City 47--Ginger Calub collected 20 points for the Spartans (15-8, 7-2) in a Rio Hondo League game.

Bell-Jeff 99, Queen of Angels 25--The Guards, ranked No. 4, shut out the Angels, 38-0, in the first quarter, setting a school record for points in a quarter in a Camino Real League game. Jaclyn Johnson had 27 points, 16 rebounds and six assists.

Louisville 58, Notre Dame 37--Becky Witt had 22 points and Rosie Chingcuanco added 15 for the Royals in a Mission League game at Notre Dame. Amy McGinnis led the Knights (7-16, 2-7) with 14 points.

Calabasas 52, Santa Paula 28--Alyssa Love scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for Calabasas (10-10, 3-6) in a Frontier League game. Heather Robertson added 12 points and 15 rebounds.

Campbell Hall 50, Faith Baptist 45--Emily Abrams scored 23 points and collected 10 rebounds to lead the Vikings (9-11, 2-5) in a Delphic League game.

Thousand Oaks 43, Westlake 16--Elena Salvador led a balanced Lancer attack with eight points in a Marmonte League game. Thousand Oaks (17-6, 11-2), ranked No. 10, played without leading scorer Jenn Detmer, who was ejected from a game Saturday and was required to sit out Tuesday night’s game.

Royal 77, Camarillo 50--Teresa Russell had 16 points, 16 rebounds and six blocked shots for the Highlanders (15-7, 10-3) in a Marmonte League game at Camarillo.

Channel Islands 45, Simi Valley 40--Chenne Tuimoloau scored 10 points for the Raiders (18-7, 11-2) in a Marmonte League game at Channel Islands.

BOYS

Hart 69, Burbank 41--Bryan Kirk scored 13 points and David Neill added 12 for the No. 3-ranked Indians (20-5, 9-0), who held Burbank to 11 points in the first half of a Foothill League game. Juni Williams scored 10 points for Burbank (13-10, 5-4).

Burroughs 64, Valencia 57--J.K. Scott scored nine of his 27 points in the fourth quarter as the Indians (13-12, 5-4) pulled into a second-place tie in the Foothill League.

Palmdale 58, Quartz Hill 37--Markus Carr scored 23 points and had eight steals for the Falcons (15-8, 6-1) in a Golden League game.

Antelope Valley 83, Highland 73--Ziaire Williams scored 20 points for the Antelopes (19-6, 7-0), who clinched a share of the Golden League title.

Nordhoff 65, Moorpark 59--The Rangers made six of nine free throws in overtime for the Frontier League upset at Nordhoff.

Chris Christoffersen had 15 points, 14 rebounds and nine blocked shots and Kristian Christensen had 13 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists for Nordhoff (7-15, 2-7). Kevin Lawrence had 23 points for Moorpark (17-5, 5-4).

Santa Paula 72, Calabasas 71--Willie Zavala scored six of his 20 points in the fourth quarter, when the Cardinals (7-2 in league play) went on a 9-0 run and took command of the Frontier League game.

Ryan Coleman had 20 points and eight assists for the Coyotes (12-12, 3-6).
