Fannie Mae Offers Advice at Times Home Buyers Fair

Fannie Mae, the government-chartered secondary mortgage market company, will host a special HomePath pavilion at The Times Home Buyers Fair on Saturday, March 1. The fair will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Center, 700 W. 32nd St., Los Angeles.

Brochures in seven languages on mortgages, credit and the home-buying process will be distributed at The Times Home Buyers Fair on Saturday by the Fannie Mae Foundation, not the Federal National Mortgage Assn. (Fannie Mae).

Fannie Mae counselors will offer free brochures in seven languages on mortgages, credit and the general home-buying process. They also will show how-to videos during the fair and conduct one-on-one counseling for home buyers.

Fair-goers can also focus on house-hunting and home-buying at a morning question-and-answer workshop. An afternoon seminar will focus on mortgage issues, including qualifying, credit and getting the best terms and rates on a home loan.

More than 50 exhibitors also will be on hand, including representatives from HUD, the IRS, the VA, Department of Real Estate and Consumer Credit Counseling Service.
