GUMBEL: TODAY BECOMES TOMORROW
Bryant Gumbel did a beautiful job of demystifying the infractions in the studio (“The Tomorrow Show,” by Verne Gay, Jan 12). I admire him and wish him the best for the future.

Does anyone else see the irony in a man who can talk so passionately about the evils of racism, yet seems to embrace sexism?

With all due respect to Gumbel’s perception of O.J. Simpson, it’s ultimately not about race or even, perhaps, about murder. It’s about celebrity and the impunity that money and power will bring. If Arnold killed Maria and got away with it, we would be just as outraged.
