Term Limits

Share

Political funding activities by all political parties must be changed.

We have a historic opportunity here, where the voters want the incumbent out because of the unfair advantage that the incumbent has. Term limits gets this result. There are many incumbents who do not deserve to be reelected. On the other hand, there are also excellent legislators who are honorable, and who are unfairly penalized by term limits. Everyone loses in this scenario.

If we really have political finance reform where the playing field is kept exactly equal for everyone, I see no need for term limits. The legislators get what they want, a chance for another term (this may be good or bad), and the new guy on the street has an equal opportunity to get elected.
