Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky has reappointed three San Fernando Valley residents to county commissions, Yaroslavsky’s office has announced.

Leslie K. Gilbert-Lurie of Hidden Hills was selected for a second term on the county Board of Education; Wayne Avrashow of Studio City was chosen again for the Los Angeles Convention and Exhibition Center Authority Commission; and Kathleen Hernandez of Topanga was reappointed to the County Schools Pedestrian Crossing Guard Committee.

The Board of Education oversees the budgets of schools in unincorporated county areas, and the exhibition center commission is responsible for improvements at the convention center. The crossing-guard committee helps decide where to place school crossing guards in unincorporated areas.
