BURBANK — A 54-year-old man suspected of molesting four children over a 10-year period in his Burbank home was arrested in a small town about 200 miles north of Los Angeles, according to authorities.
Stephen V. Andersen was arrested Friday by Burbank police detectives in Oceano, a coastal community just north of Santa Maria, said Lt. Don Brown.
Andersen--described by police as a self-employed tool and dye maker--is being held in the Los Angeles County Men’s Central Jail awaiting arraignment on charges of attempted murder and continuous sexual abuse of a child, according to authorities.
Details about the charges were not available Tuesday, Brown said.
“That’s all that’s being released right now,” he said.
Investigators allege that Andersen molested the four children between 1975 and 1985. He is being held on $1.2-million bail, Brown said.
Anyone with information about current or other allegations against Andersen is urged to call investigators at (818) 238-3255.
