Three alleged gang members linked to the attempted murder of a 14-year-old boy were arrested early Tuesday during a raid involving about 60 police officers serving search warrants at nine locations, authorities said.

Francisco Osorio, 19, of Orange, and Ronnie Garcia, also 19, whose address was not known, were arrested on suspicion of shooting the unidentified 14-year-old, police said. A 17-year-old boy was also arrested, but his name was being withheld because of his age.

The victim was shot in the head earlier this month and remains on life support at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, Orange Police Lt. Ed Tunstall said. The shooting occurred last Thursday during a confrontation between two gangs at Locust Avenue and Shattuck Street, Tunstall said. He said the victim and suspects are believed to be involved in gangs.

Another suspect, a 17-year-old whose name was not released because of his age, was arrested at the time of the shooting, bringing to four the number of suspects in custody.

All four suspects are being held on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder.
