Datum Inc.: The Irvine company, which makes instruments for satellite systems and other devices, reported net income of $2 million, or 46 cents a share, for 1996, up from $60,000, or 2 cents a share, for 1995. Revenue advanced 37% to $91.9 million from $67.3 million. Net income for the fourth quarter totaled $992,000, or 23 cents a share, contrasted with a net loss of $465,000, or 12 cents a share, for the fourth quarter of 1995. Last year’s fourth quarter included charges related to inventory valuation adjustments and other costs recorded as a result of the consolidation of the Timing and Bancomm product lines. Revenue rose 25% to a record $27.5 million from $22 million.
