A 64-year-old La Habra man who was pulled from the ocean after the boat he was fishing from capsized, was listed in good condition Monday at Columbia Los Robles Hospital in Thousand Oaks, according to hospital officials.

Spencer Chueng was one of six men rescued by a charter boat crew and the Coast Guard on Sunday after their 23-foot pleasure boat was swamped and sank off the north end of Santa Cruz Island.

Chueng was coughing up blood when the crew from the boat Jeffrey Arvid found him about 11:10 a.m. Sunday. He was taken by Coast Guard helicopter to the hospital and spent the night in guarded condition in the hospital’s critical-care unit.

On Monday afternoon, his condition was upgraded and Chueng was moved to a regular hospital room, said hospital spokeswoman Kris Carraway.
