4 Accused of Selling Liquor to Minors
Teenagers working for the Simi Valley Police Department helped officers nab four people who allegedly sold alcohol to minors.
On Feb. 20 and 27, two undercover decoys, both 18 years of age, tried to purchase alcohol at 66 locations in the city. They were successful at four business--two gas stations and two drugstores--leading to the arrest of four people, said Simi Valley Police Lt. Neal Rein.
The employees who allegedly sold the alcohol to the minors were given misdemeanor citations and released, Rein said. The names of the businesses will be sent to the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control for administrative action.
Penalties include fines, or suspension or revocation of the liquor sales license, according to Rein.
The stores involved were AM/PM, 25 Tierra Rejada Road; Mobil Gas, 5195 Cochran St., and two Thrifty Drug locations, 2350 Tapo St. and 1159 Los Angeles Ave.
