Foreman to Fight Savarese in April
Former heavyweight champion George Foreman, 48, will fight for the only third time in 30 months when he faces undefeated Lou Savarese on April 26 in Atlantic City, N.J., promoters announced Sunday.
Foreman is 75-4 with 68 knockouts, but hasn’t fought since a lackluster decision victory over Crawford Grimsley on Nov. 3 in Tokyo. Before that, his last bout was a controversial decision over Germany’s Axel Schulz in April 1995.
Savarese is 36-0 with 30 knockouts and is coming off an impressive sixth-round technical knockout of Buster Mathis Jr. on Nov. 1.
