Duck update--They bring a season-high five-game unbeaten streak to the Pond after beating Washington and tying Detroit on the road. They haven’t lost at the Pond since Feb. 2, when Colorado defeated them, 5-2. They’re 8-1-1 in their last 10 games at home and 17-12-3 at home this season. That seems to bode well for the next stretch, as they play six of seven at the Pond before leaving on a six-game trip.

Senator update--Like the Ducks, the Senators are trying to make their first playoff appearance, but they’re lagging a bit behind the Eastern Conference’s top eight. Still, with 21 victories, the Senators have already won more games than in any of their previous four seasons. The previous high was 18.
