11 Die, 24 Hurt as Bus Explodes in Capital

Eleven people burned to death and 24 others were injured when a bus exploded in Guatemala City, fire officials said. A Fire Department spokesman said that according to survivors, two men smoking cigarettes boarded the bus carrying canisters of paint thinner, and they apparently caused the explosion. Radio reports said the backdoor of the bus failed to open and that passengers were trapped inside.
