Inching Along on the Food Chain

At long last, I thought when I saw the “Vegetarian Cookbooks” cover (Feb. 19). Then with disdain I discover your reviewer is not a vegetarian, perpetuating The Times’ long-standing “outsider looking in” attitude toward a meatless diet. Then you just had to throw in the veal stew [recipe from an unrelated story].

Oh, well, evolution is a trying and difficult process; at least you were able to walk upright and drop your club for a few moments.
