Businessman Shot to Death in His Car
A 61-year-old Encino businessman was shot to death in his car after leaving a friend’s home, according to authorities.
William Levine was pronounced dead at the scene Tuesday night, said Deputy Henry Garza, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
“The motive for the shooting is unknown,” Garza said.
Levine left a residence in the 200 block of North Poinsettia Avenue about 10:20 p.m. and got into his late-model Cadillac, according to authorities. He was then shot once in the upper torso, Garza said. His body was found a few minutes later.
The Sheriff’s Department was asked to help in the homicide investigation by the Manhattan Beach Police Department, authorities said.
