Council Agrees to Hire Organizer
City Council members said they need help setting their goals and will hire someone to organize the process.
The council agreed to spend as much as $1,000 for a facilitator to help them list priorities. The expenditure “is a good use of city funding,” Mayor David Cheverton said. “It is money very well spent.”
Cheverton and the council majority said the facilitator will help them formalize ideas and provide direction for the city staff.
Councilman Steve Anderson dissented, however, saying the council could achieve the same results by writing down their thoughts on a chalkboard and prioritizing them by themselves. “I can’t see that it’s that difficult,” he said.
